How to use X-CONNECT
Every button explained: where it is, what it does and why you need it.
Signing in and your account
Sign in with X-WORLD
The only way to sign in. login.x-world.plus opens — sign in with your X-WORLD account and you’ll be brought straight back to X-CONNECT. No separate messenger password needed.
Account button (top right)
Your photo and name. Click it to open the menu: “Saved Messages”, “New group”, “Settings”, “Blocked users”, “How to use”, “X-WORLD account” and “Sign out”. Click it again, or click anywhere else, to close the menu.
X-WORLD account
Change your name and photo in your X-WORLD account at login.x-world.plus — they update in X-CONNECT automatically the next time you sign in.
Sign out
Signs you out of X-CONNECT on this device. Your language and theme are kept.
Admin panel (owner and staff)
The X-CONNECT owner and staff see “Admin panel” in the menu (x-connect.plus/admin): statistics, broadcasts, ads, reports, settings. The panel has its own guide — the book icon in its header (in Russian).
The messenger screen
Menu button (top left)
Opens the menu: “Create group”, “Find people”, “Saved Messages”, “Join by invite”, “Settings”, “Night mode”, “Notifications”, “Install app”, “How to use”, “About X-CONNECT”.
Language button (top)
Shows the language code, for example “EN ▾”. Click it and pick one of 9 languages. Your choice is remembered.
Theme button (top)
The moon switches to the dark theme, the sun to the light one. Your choice is remembered.
List on the left
People and groups only. Click a row and the conversation opens on the right. Each row shows the last message, the time and the number of unread messages.
The “i” icon (top right of a chat)
Slides out the info panel: photo, status, call buttons, group members, the invite link and, below, the “Media”, “Files” and “Voice” tabs.
“X-CONNECT” feed
News, updates and a welcome note from X-CONNECT appear as a separate row in your chat list, with the X logo. You can’t reply there; the button under a post opens its link.
“Back to list” arrow (on a phone)
On a narrow screen the list and the chat are shown one at a time. The arrow in a chat returns to the list with one tap.
Bottom bar (on a phone)
On a narrow screen there are four buttons at the bottom: “Home” — all chats, “Groups & channels” — only groups and channels, “Search” — find people and groups, “Menu” — the same menu as top left. The plugin on websites works the same way.
Finding people and direct chats
Search for people and groups
The bar at the top of the list. It searches your chats and everyone on X-WORLD — by name, email or ID. A person appears in search after their first sign-in to X-CONNECT.
Start a direct chat
Click a person in the search results and your conversation with them opens.
Saved Messages
A chat with yourself: notes, links and files just for you.
Pin, mute, mark as read
Right-click a row in the list (on a phone, long-press): “Pin”, “Mute”, “Mark as read”, “Delete chat for me” or “Leave group”.
Groups and channels
New group or channel
The button next to search, or the “Create group” or “Create channel” menu item. Choose “Group” (everyone talks) or “Channel” (you post, others read), enter a name, add a description and photo if you like, choose “Public” or “Private”, select members and click “Create”.
Public and private
Anyone can find a public group or channel in search and join on their own. A private one can only be joined via an invite link or when an admin adds you. You can switch this in “Permissions & settings”.
Find a group or channel
Type a name in the search on the left — a “Public groups and channels” section appears below. You can read a public group before joining; at the bottom there's a “Join group” or “Subscribe to channel” button.
Invite link
In the group panel (the “i” icon), find the “Invite link” block. The copy button copies the link; the refresh button creates a new one and the old one stops working.
Custom link name
The pencil button next to the invite link: type a name in Latin letters to get x-connect.plus/join/name. The panel shows 12 characters after join/ and “…”; “Copy” copies the full link.
Add members
The “Add” button in the group panel. The owner, admins and moderators can add people — and members too, if the group's permissions allow it.
Permissions & settings
A button in the group panel for the owner and admins. Type: public or private. Who can post: everyone, admins and moderators only, or no one. What members can do: send photos and files, voice and video messages, links, add people, start calls. Slow mode — one message every 10 seconds … 1 hour. Hide the member list. In a channel — who publishes posts, and “Sign posts”.
Roles: owner, admin, moderator
Click “⋮” next to a member. The owner appoints and removes admins and moderators, and can “Transfer group” — then becomes an admin themselves. An admin changes the settings and the link and appoints moderators. A moderator deletes other people's messages, mutes and removes members.
Mute member
“⋮” next to a member, or right-click their message → “Mute member”. They stay in the group and can read but can't write. “Unmute member” lifts the restriction.
Group ban list
“Ban” removes a person from the group and stops them from coming back via a link or search. The list is under the “Blocked users” button in the group panel, where you'll also find “Unblock”.
Channel
At the bottom, subscribers see a “Muted” / “Unmute” button instead of the input field. Subscribers only see the channel's admins. To leave a channel, use the “Leave” button in the panel or in the row's menu in the list.
Edit group
The owner and admins change the name, description and photo — the “Edit group” (“Edit channel”) button in the panel.
Leave group
The “Leave” button in the group panel, or in the row’s menu in the list.
“Official” badge and ads
X-CONNECT puts the badge next to the names of official X-WORLD channels and verified groups. Large groups may show posts from X-CONNECT marked “Ad”.
Messages
Send
Enter sends the message, Shift+Enter adds a new line. On a phone, use the arrow button on the right.
Bold, italic, link
Select some words and a toolbar appears: bold, italic, link, clear formatting. Shortcuts: Ctrl+B, Ctrl+I, Ctrl+K.
Reply
Right-click a message (on a phone, long-press) → “Reply”. Tap the quote in a reply to jump back to the original message.
Edit
Your own message: right-click → “Edit”, or press ↑ in an empty field. Edited messages are marked “edited”.
Read more
A long message is shown up to 8–9 cm tall, followed by “Read more”. Tap it to expand the full text.
Reactions
Right-click a message (long-press on a phone): a row of emoji appears on top — tap one to react, “+” opens all emoji. A badge with a count appears under the message; tap it to add the same reaction or remove yours.
Delete
“Delete for me” removes it only for you. “Delete for everyone” removes it for all participants (your own message; in a group, an admin can delete any message).
Copy and download
Same menu — “Copy text” and “Download” for photos, videos and files.
Ticks
One tick means sent, two blue ticks mean read.
Emoji
Emoji button
On the left of the message field. Opens a panel: categories at the bottom (recent, smileys, people, animals, food, travel, activities, objects, symbols, flags) and search by name at the top.
Style right in the panel
In the emoji panel, next to search, there is a style button (Facets by default). Tap it and pick one of five sets: Facets, Glass, Outline, Chrome, Matte relief.
Skin tone
The hand button next to search — pick one of six tones. It applies to all emoji with people and gestures.
Emoji and icon style
Settings → “Emoji and icon style”: Glass, Outline, Facets, Chrome or Matte Relief. The style adapts to the light and dark theme automatically.
Photos, files, location
Paperclip
On the right of the message field: “Photo or video”, “Document”, “Location”. Files up to 200 MB.
Drag or paste
Drag a file into the chat with your mouse, or paste an image from your clipboard (Ctrl+V).
Location
Sends your spot on the map. Your browser asks for permission once.
Voice and video messages
Voice message
When the message field is empty, a mic button shows on the right. Tap it to start recording with a waveform and timer. Tap again to send. The trash icon cancels.
Listen
The “▶” button on a voice message. Tap the waveform to seek. The “1×” button changes the speed: 1×, 1.5×, 2×.
Video message
The camera button in the message field. Square format, up to 1 minute, with a progress bar along the bottom. Buttons: “Cancel”, “Camera” (switch front/back), “Send”. After a minute it sends automatically.
Calls
Voice call
The phone icon at the top of a chat. In a group, it starts a group call for up to 6 people.
Video call
The camera icon at the top of a chat. You can turn your camera on and off during the call.
Incoming call
A window in the top right: “Accept”, “Decline”, “Block”. “Block” stops that person from calling and messaging you.
Joining a group call
If a call is going on in the group, a banner “Call in progress · up to 6 people” and a “Join” button appear at the top of the chat. When it’s full, you’ll see “Full”.
Microphone and camera
Buttons at the bottom of the call screen. A turned-off button becomes light. Anyone with their mic off has a crossed-out mic next to their name.
Speaker and earpiece
On a phone, a button at the bottom of the call screen. “Earpiece”: sound goes to the earpiece and the screen turns off when you hold the phone to your ear. “Speaker”: sound goes to the loudspeaker. Voice calls start on the earpiece, video calls on the speaker. Works fully in the X-CONNECT Android app; in a phone browser the system chooses the speaker.
Call recording
The “Record” button at the bottom of the call screen — in one-to-one and group calls. The file captures everyone’s audio and, if video is on, all the tiles in one picture; people who join later are recorded too. While recording, everyone sees a “Recording” badge at the top and who is recording. Stop with the same button or by ending the call. On a computer the file is downloaded; in the Android app it is saved to Downloads → X-CONNECT. Let the others know you are recording.
Connection quality
Three bars next to each participant: green is great, yellow is fair, red is weak. Hover to see latency and packet loss.
“Back to chat” and “Minimize”
On the full call screen: “Back to chat” at the top left minimizes the call and returns you to the conversation; “Minimize” on the right turns it into a small window on top of the site. The “Back to chat” button at the bottom, Esc and the phone's “Back” button do the same. Drag the mini-window by its title bar.
“Direct” and “Group chat” in the mini-window
“Group chat” sends a message to everyone in the call. “Direct” sends a private message to the person you pick; recent private messages show up there too, including from people outside the call.
Expand and end
“Expand” brings back the full-screen call; the red button ends the call. In a group call there are two red buttons: “Leave” — you leave and the call goes on for the others; “End for everyone” — ends the call for all (shown to whoever started the call and to the group’s owner and admins).
Host: mute everyone’s mics and cameras
In a group call, the person who started it, as well as the group owner and admins, see two buttons above the controls: “Mute everyone’s mics” and “Turn off everyone’s cameras” — they work independently. While a ban is on, participants can’t turn their mic or camera back on, and their sound and video reach no one. Hosts talk and show video as usual. Lift the ban with the same button (“Allow mics”, “Allow cameras”); then everyone turns their mic and camera on themselves.
Settings and notifications
Settings
“About me”, theme, language, emoji and icon style, blocked users, notifications, app installation.
Blocked users
The list of people you’ve blocked. The “Unblock” button lets them message and call you again.
Notifications
Allow notifications and X-CONNECT will tell you about new messages and calls, even when the tab is in the background. To mute a single chat, use “Mute” in its menu.
Report
For a message — in its menu; for a person or group — the “Report” button in their panel. Pick a reason: X-CONNECT moderators will review it, and the person won’t know who reported them.
Install as an app
Windows
Chrome or Edge: click the install icon on the right of the address bar → “Install”. X-CONNECT will appear in the Start menu and on the taskbar.
Android
Download the X-CONNECT app (APK), open the file and allow installation. Notifications, calls and the “Classic X” ringtone work like in any messenger.
iPhone and iPad
Safari: the “Share” button → “Add to Home Screen”.
